Complaints, Nothing and Hail - This week's Blog!!

Well hello. I'm back, in case you thought the show on Sunday was some kind of fancy pre-record, it wasn't and I'm here.
I got back from Abu Dhabi, thanks to Mike for his Blog last week by the way - never a truer word spoken, late on Saturday so I expected the show to be a little ropey if I'm honest, but it wasn't - even if I do say so myself - and from the volume of emails and texts we got in I'm hoping I wasn't the only one who thought that. Although I've been wrong before......

Falling, Guesting and Holidaying - This week on the Blog

Good Afternoon.
How are you all on this wet Friday afternoon? Like that is it? Fair enough.
Firstly my apologies for not blogging last week, I've decided it can be used as a verb, if you heard the show on Sunday you will already be aware of the reason, but for those of you who missed out, I moved house last week. I now live in a lovely house, rather than a small flat. I would heartily recommend it to all. But please accept my apologies for not blogging, it won't happen again. Until next week when I'm on holiday, but apart from that it won't happen again.

Moving, Racing and Accelerating - Week 8 of the Blog!!!

Howdy Doody Folks - After 8 weeks of this I'm running out of original greetings I'm afraid.
Well this week I have been mostly packing to move house (sorry, that was a bit Fast Show wasn't it, it won't happen again) I move next week so with usual meticulous preparation, a trait any any regular listeners will already be aware of, I began to pack all my worldly possessions last night. This may seem like enough time but I am going to Liverpool to the Grand National on Saturday, I am working every other day including Sunday and then at gigs on Sunday night and Monday, so I reckon I have about 3 and a half hours or so to finish off. Great huh.

Motown, Winchester and Greyhounds - Week 7 of the Blog!!

Hello Hello Hello.
How are we all this week. Another late one I know. Sorry but I have had the week off work and have been running around travelling the country visiting friends and family many of whom don't approve of this "silly internet stuff." "Why do you have to do it on the internet? Why not just send them a letter?" "It doesn't work like that, its called a Blog and it's for everyone to read, not just one person." "A Blog? Makes it sound like an illness if you ask me."
So you see what I've been up against.
Anyway, there will be a smallish change on the show this week as we will be doing "30 Minutes of Motown" between half 10 and 11. This is purely because I reckon there are alot of people who would enjoy waking up to Motown on a Sunday morning and so that's what I'll play. Simple as that. Obviously this will mean that Now and Then will have to move back after 11oclock but I'm sure my producers will forgive me for that one.

Elbow, lateness and Easter questions - Week 6!!!!

Howdy.
I know I'm later than usual with this today, you were all on your lunch hours constantly refreshing the screen waiting for me weren't you "I need the loo, love, but he's gonna update it any minute, I just know it. He's never late this lad." Sorry.
Anyway, how have you been this fine week? I've been ok, thank you for asking. Winding down for Easter if I'm being honest with you. I have a whole week off work - I won't be missing the show though, panic averted - although my Good Friday will be starting very early when I'm picking my Mum up from Manchester Airport at 6.30am, thanks Mum. She's back in the country for a whole 4 weeks which will be a nice treat, particularly as she's already agreed to help me move house house next month. A moment of weakness that I plan to hold her to.

Blog etiquette, grammar and other non-Blog related stuff too - Week 5!!!

Hello Bloggers.
Are you the readers, the Bloggers, or am I the Blogger, as the writer of the Blog? Is one of us a Blogee?
If I write a particularly small Blog one week, could that be called a Blogette? Or is that a female Blog? Or is that then making the assumption that Blogs are gender specific?
It's very confusing this modern technology stuff isn't it? Wasn't it all better when all we had was a diary and our thoughts.
Anyway, hello, how are you? I do hope you enjoyed the show on Sunday, from the volume of texts and emails we got in I got the impression that most people did but, hey, I've been wrong before. The long awaited new features are now all bedded in and ready to go, Word of the week, Punchline of the week and Song Lyric of the week will all appear in whatever order I fancy at quarter to 12, quarter to 1 and quarter to 2 every week, although as Sunday proved I am willing to be a bit flexible about these times.

New stuff, old stuff and other stuff - Week 4 of the Blog!

It's Wednesday and I'm sitting at a computer eating a dry cheese sandwich from Greggs, which of course means it's time for week 4 of the Blog. Hooray!!!! (Feel free to clap there, it will help the atmosphere, trust me.)
If you heard the show on Sunday you were part of a historic broadcast, because as I'm sure you realised it was my first four hour show. And not only that but there were three new features given a test run on this monumental occasion. They all seemed to go well and so will be returning on Sunday and for the forseeable future, if you want to know what all the fuss is about, tune in from ten on Sunday morning and find out. I'm told they were due to be featured in the "and finally" bit of the Ten OClock news on Monday night but we just got pipped at the last minute by Torvill the ice-skating cat. Maybe next time.

Cars, REM and other assorted nonsense - Week 3

Well hello there.
Week 3 of the greatest Blog written by somebody who presents a Sunday afternoon show on Seaside FM, after Mike Brown that is, obviously.
Thank you for all your emails and texts during the show the other day, particularly the ones relating to new conspiracy theories. I'd like to make that one a long running feature so if you have anymore fake conspiracies that you'd like to suggest, I will be only to happy to take them of your hands. daveonseasidefm@hotmail.co.uk is the way you can let me know.
This week I have just bought my first car, so I'm pretty pleased about that, I have also bought tickets to see REM over the summer in Manchester. I'm not sure which of these is more exciting to be honest with you, if I were you though, I would expect a REM-weighted show on Sunday. I'm also off to a pub quiz tonight so if you're good I'll ask you a few questions for prizes on Sunday.

New fangled interweb Blog thing.

Hello!
Here it is, my historic first ever Blog. Hard to believe that in this day and age someone could still be a Blog virgin at 24 years old, well there you go. Does Blog always need a capital letter? I'm not sure so I'll stick with it, don't want to upset the Blog fairies this early in proceedings.
Well, the idea of this is that it'll be updated a couple of times a week, either with info about the show, (ie, silly ideas that may fill a link) or other things that I have done/seen/thought of/secretly imagined. Sounds simple enough doesn't it.
First things first, if you would like to contact me when I'm not on the air, you can do it by simply emailing me at daveonseasidefm@hotmail.co.uk . Remember, it's the new hotmail so '.co.uk' rather than the old school '.com'
Basically if you would like to get in touch about a song I have played, or that you would like me to play. A feature I did or a joke that I told that you liked or hated, that is the way to do it.
