Holderness Vikings vs East Riding Rugby Match 11/10/08

We went along and presented ourselves as acting professionals....not. It was a dry day for the Holderness Vikings match with a reasonable turnout against the team East Riding, and what a match it was.
Two players sent off, two others sin binned and the teams sharing 80 points between them (sort of).
Referee Mark Charlton had a busy day having to brandish his cards out 4 times during a fiery game which saw both teams fighting amongst themselves not once but twice, which resulted in a yellow card for both sides.

Time for a waffle

I would like to say morning to everyone on this blustry Tuesday.
We have had some brill days since my last blog. We went to see Sandi Thom at the Lamp in Hull, what an excellent night. She's definitly better live than on cd, it was a packed night (literally full of students, I felt old lol). We went along with 2 other radio presenters, Mike Brown and Big Si, halfway thru the night as Sandi Thom came on stage, the tallest bloke you can imagine went and stood directly in front of Si, we nicknamed him Lurch. But as soon as she sang her famous song 'Wish I was a punk rocker, with flowers in my hair' they disappeared, So Si did see some of the concert. We had actually gone in the first place to support Dave Abbott who was Sandi's suppot artist and he was good, (waiting for his album lol). If you get chance to see Dave then do, you will be singing and tapping away to his own written songs.

Frustrating start to the week

What a fustrating week it has been, the start of the week when guests were supposed to turn up but didn't, not even a phonecall to say they would not be coming, but as you do, you carry on with the show.
We did have 2 guests who came in and 1 phone interview, with 3 no shows (their loss).
Still didn't stop the show from being entertaining (for us anyway lol).
The gym seemed a toughy this week even though we had no extra to do (been told that's waiting for us on Monday), Paul was struggling on Wednesday, and I wasn't well but we still went and still enjoyed it, we had to turn in as we had just interviewed our gym instructor John that morning. So no escaping that day lol.

Keep Fit with the Lardys

As you all may know by now, we are both doing exercise on prescription at our local gym at the Pavillion. Boy did we feel the pain this week (lol), starting off only doing 5 minutes on each machine (which believe it or not kills) and eventually as days go by, extra time will be added as well as extra work out machines. Determined to shape up for the summer (where's that chocolate bar lol). Monday is the start of our 3rd week and all ready the legs, arms oh bugger it, the whole body aches lol.
Yesterday was Valentine's Day, we have been together for nearly 19yrs and eventually we decided to go out for a romantic meal at the Crown & Anchor in Elstronwick. The Valentine's meal that was originally booked was changed due to the landlord becoming ill (not food poisoning lol), so they put on their bistro menu instead. The meal was outstanding yet again (did go there for the studio's Christmas meal).
