Councillor wants a little extra for Withernsea

Posted August 3rd, 2010 by Mike Brown in
Withernsea town council has written to Halifax urging it to reconsider its decision to close the high street bank in the town.
In the letter, town councillor Jayne Moxon asks Halifax to reconsider its decision to close the bank on the high street in the town as the nearest branch for residents would be in Hull, a 40-mile round trip.
The Halifax merged with the Bank of Scotland to form HBOS in 2001, but this has since been taken over by Lloyds Banking Group. However, the Halifax in Withernsea is owned and operated by a third party which operates a counter.
