Shakin’ Stevens has reluctantly had to pull out of this year’s Hull’s Party in the Park on Saturday 4th September after being admitted into hospital suffering from exhaustion. Shaky has also cancelled a number of his other UK tour dates.

The top-selling artist of the 80’s had been under pressure to finish his latest album to coincide with the Hull date and his 30th Anniversary UK tour.
A spokesperson for the singer said "He was admitted to the hospital last week. No one saw this coming however he’s been under a lot of pressure to finish the album. He’s now recovering and he will take a break for a few months to recuperate”.

Premier Concerts have moved quickly to replace Shaky and have announced that RICK ASTLEY will now be appearing as very special guest on Saturday the 4th September. Director of Premier Concert’s, Tim Jibson, said “We are all very sad to hear the news of Shaky’s hospitalization, and we wish him a very speedy recovery. Shaky hopes to join us next year. We are really over the moon that RICK ASTLEY has agreed to join the exciting line up for this year’s concert - including Bananarama, ABC, East 17 and Imagination and Hull 80’s band - Moscow.”
