Myspace or Facebook, which one are you?

Howdy!

Do you know anyone who is unlucky enough to suffer with dreaded insomnia? Maybe your like me and you do yourself? Well, if you do then you'll know exactly how crap I'm feeling right now after having a particularly bad week with it.

When I go to bed on a night my mind seems to wake up and it's almost as if I'm frightened to fall asleep just in case I miss something! It's really strange as during the day I'm as cool as a cucumber and very chilled.

So what is there to think about in the middle of the night? Well, all sorts! It can range from worrying about what I'm having for tea to what if war broke out overnight? Why did they change the name of Opal Fruits, to what if a meteor hits earth and were all killed? Some of you may already know, but for those of you who don't, on Thursday the US successfully blew up a spy satellite which was on a collision course with earth! Now, I'm not being funny but apparently, they only had a 10 second window in which to hit the target and if they missed it could have come down anywhere! What if they pressed the button a fraction of a second later? What if it missed? What if it came down in Withernsea!!??

A big one with me is about spider webbing. You know when your walking down the street and you get a bit of web in your face? Well how does the web get from one side of the street to the other? Your not telling me that a wee spider can shoot web from a wall it is perched on to across the road and on to another wall like what Spiderman could are you!?

While I'm at it why are zebras called zebras? Lets be honest, they're just stripy horses really. Shetland Ponies don't have a special name of their own do they? Nor, do Shirehorses! Oh, I can't wait to go to bed tonight, I wonder what weird and wonderful thoughts my mind will think up!

I'll tell you what adds to making my brain over active, THE BLOODY INTERNET! I'm addicted to checking my email, seeing if anyone has messaged me on either of my facebook or myspace accounts and now I've got to worry about these blogs on the Seaside FM website. Is anyone going to read them? If so, who? Why are they so interested? What do they want from me!!??

While I'm talking about social networking sites, which do you think is better, the facebook or the myspace? I hear people discussing this on the bus, at work, down the pub, in fact everywhere I go! The fact that we have nothing better to talk about then pretend friends in a pretend social environment is pretty sad, what happened to just going out, enjoying yourself and meeting REAL people in person!?

Anyway, I'm probably as sad as the people I'm describing above, as it just seems to be the norm nowadays! I have a facebook account, which I use for keeping in touch with old friends and I have a myspace site for my radio show. Lets be honest everyone on myspace is either weird, or has something to promote! I'm not sure which category I fall into yet!? My address is www.myspace.com/mikebrownfallingdown so have a look and judge for yourself!

Just going back to the insomnia thing, I know what your all thinking, your thinking here is somebody who needs to chill out and relax right!? Well, I've tried and I can't. I've had insomnia for years and it seems I just have to accept it as part of my life. If anyone has any tips on getting rid of my insomnia, then I'd love to hear them.

Lets hope I get some sleep between now and the show on Sunday, not sleeping makes me go a bit bonkers, in the head!

Meow, Gobble Gobble, Eey-ore, Buck-arp, Moo, Bark, Cock-a-doodle-doo! (translation: take care and see you Sunday at two!)
