Me with Hull based singer-songwriter, Dave Abbott at The Lamp.

I, along with Simon Harris, Paul Ashworth and Donna Ashworth went along to watch Dave Abbott supporting Sandi Thom at The Lamp on Norfolk Street in Hull.

Afterwards, Dave Abbott spoke to me about how he got started as a solo singer and songwriter after leaving the local group Krave. Dave now records and produces his own material at his home studio and he told me that he'd would like to make a living out of it one day.

Dave Abbott style is acoustic alternative rock music, which he says is influenced by Crowded House, Jack Johnson, Jose Gonzalez, Ray Lamontagne to name a few.

We also chatted briefly about him supporting Journey South, and at length about how chuffed he was to be supporting Sandi Thom, Dave then admitted that he'd done the whole set with his fly open!!!
