On air now: Hello Holderness
Moving, Racing and Accelerating - Week 8 of the Blog!!!

Howdy Doody Folks - After 8 weeks of this I'm running out of original greetings I'm afraid.
Well this week I have been mostly packing to move house (sorry, that was a bit Fast Show wasn't it, it won't happen again) I move next week so with usual meticulous preparation, a trait any any regular listeners will already be aware of, I began to pack all my worldly possessions last night. This may seem like enough time but I am going to Liverpool to the Grand National on Saturday, I am working every other day including Sunday and then at gigs on Sunday night and Monday, so I reckon I have about 3 and a half hours or so to finish off. Great huh.
Apart from that I have been enjoying Accelerate which is the new REM album a lot, the word that I used to describe it to a friend after a couple of listens was "Urgent" and I think that is still a valid word to use after a few more goes at it. If you are a fan of anything REM pre 1997 then you will love it. It feels like a proper REM album, and that is the greatest compliment I think I can pay it.
As I mentioned above, I am off to the Grand National on Saturday, any tips will be gratefully received. daveonseasidefm@hotmail.co.uk for any potential bankers please. It is usually a good, but expensive day out and although I have no great interest in horse racing, it is a huge sporting event and I think most people can find it within themselves to enjoy days like that. When my pick falls at the first I probably won't be saying that though.
I hope you enjoyed it this week, particularly the Motown Half Hour which sounded great from where I was, principally because I was saying nothing and just playing good records..... You're not supposed to agree with that. Unfortunately, it won't be returning this week as I am not on. I have to undertake a secret, highly dangerous mission that will take me into the depths of Tartarus, past the foaming mouth of Cerberus, into a world that should never be seen or even thought about by human beings. In other words I have to work.
The show will return as normal next week, with the Motown Half Hour between 10.30 and 11, Not Quite The Missing Words Quiz, Punchline and Word of the Day, What Have you Learnt This Week, and all the other stuff. For this week though, tune in and support whoevers doing my show, that'll help you start your Sunday without me. That's the only way you'll cope, trust me.
I'll see you next week around this time for the Blog and a week on Sunday for the show.
Bye bye
