On air now: The autopilot
Mike Brown & Danny Norton
Me and Danny Norton.
Me old mucker Danny Norton came on the show back in October 2007 to talk to me about buses! In particular, the transport links into and out of Withernsea and the Holderness Coast.
Dan told told us about the history of the main Withernsea service which was formerly operated by Connor and Graham. In 1993, Connor & Graham sold three double decker buses to East Yorkshire Motor Services, and by 1994 EYMS had bought the Connor & Graham business.
Dan, who drives for EYMS, also told me about the company's record £4.7 million investment in new buses across the region. 20 Volvo double deckers, costing around £165,000 each, with easy-access entry, seats with headrests, and 11 CCTV cameras will hit the roads of East Yorkshire in 2008.
On a personal note, me and Dan go way back, I first met him back in 1999 on astation called Festival FM. We then teamed up to present Breakfast on Jam 1575, the student radio station within the University of Hull. Since then, Dan has gone on to present on Kingstown Radio in Hull, who have recently provided Seaside FM with their training services. Dan has since made numerous appearances on my Seaside FM show, he once rang up and admitted he was transmitter mast spotting!!!
Buses, radio, transmitters, whats next? Stamp collecting!?
