Mike Brown meets 'Agraman - The Human Anagram'

Me (drunk again!) and Agraman the Human Anagram.

I spoke to local comedian Agraman backstage at The Northern Academy of Performing Arts after one of many 'Hull Comedy Festival' events.

Agraman, real name John Marshall has been promoter of comedy and regular compere on scene since being made redundant as a Daily Express journalist. John told me that he originally got into the showbiz world by starting a folk club at apub called Malt Shovels in Altrincham in 1986 and three years later, at a new venue he added comedy to the bill.

In 2004 John won the 'Les Dawson Award for Services to Comedy' at the North West comedy awards.

As well as being involved in the Hull Comedy Festival, Agraman can also be seen comparing at 'Buzz Comedy' in Beverley which he runs. This night takes place every Thursday at Hodgson's in Beverley and is now in it's fifth year showcasing up and coming acts from the comedy circuit.

I have since found out that he is the same John Marshall who introduced Sean Hughes, Frank Skinner, Eddie Izzard and Peter Kay to the comedy world, maybe I'll ask him about that next time?!
