On air now: Fridays with T'Other Paul
Sorry, I can't think of a title

Howdy!
'Tis only me again with another quick bloggy update thingy for ya!
Yesterday on the show live from Seaside Towers, we had Andy & Bob on from 'Dr. Jeckyll's Secretary' who were a good laugh. Andy is the lead singer in the band and Bob plays bass, although how I'm not quite sure as he is as deaf as a post! I had to give him a pair of headphones that were cranked right up for him to be able to hear whet I was saying! Andy explained how the name came about and told me about some of the songs the newly formed band perform.
If you want to see them then Queens Head in Hedon this Thursday is the place to be. Call the pub for more details on 01482 891432.
What else did we do yesterday? Well we also had comedian Chris Mayo on the show via a dodgy mobile phone call! Chris was actually travelling up to Hull on the train and his signal cut out twice! Still, I think we got out of him what we needed to know!
We also had the usual features in the usual places too. We played 3 corkers on The Northern Soul Threesome. The Flirtations "Nothing But A Heartache", Mel Wynn and The Rhythm Aces "Stop Sign" & Chuck Wood "7 Days Is Too Long" all featured this week. By the way, I'm dropping this feature in the next few weeks as firstly, I don't need an excuse to play Northern Soul, I can just play it throughout the show and secondly, it has come to my attention that someone has stolen the feature! Cheeky b*stard!
On The Same Old Song I played you Vanilla Ice & Queen, well it had to happen sooner or later! The song "Ice Ice Baby" featured a blindingly obvious sample of "Under Pressure".
We also had another unexciting round of the ungroundbreaking radio quiz Radio Err. Debbie in Burstwick or where ever it was said the answer was 48 and it wasn't! Soz Debbie!
After the show, I went to see Chris Mayo perform at Durty Nellies on High Street. He was good, infact better than I expected. He did alot of getting know the audience stuff which normally frightens me but it was more about finding out what we do than taking the michael!
Andy Train, Sean Moran & Masked Dan were also on the bill and all were very good. The next comedy night at Durty Nellies is on the 18th May, so if you like a laugh and you like a good night out then get yourself there! Call 01482 225212 for further details.
This week I have a visit to the dentists planned for a root canal, great eh? Not only will this cost me a small fortune but it will probably cause me severe pain. I can hardly wait!
I hope your week doesn't seem as daunting as what mine is!
Have a great week and I'll catch you on the wireless this Sunday live at 2!
Take care,
Mike.
