Alreet!

It's Will Smith here, I'm Mike's new producer on The Mike Brown Radio Show. I've been on the show for two weeks now and love every minute of it, although Mike can be a handful at times!

Take this week for example, he played some random reggae tune by Judge Dread called "Big Seven", which is actually a good summery track BUT the lyrics are some what saucy! One particular line I remember was "Jack and Jill went up a hill to fetch a bowl of cheese, jack came down with a beaming smile and his trousers round his knees", Mike thought this was fine!! The next line was was worse and the song seemed to get dirtier and dirtier! I had to tell Mike off for this and he ended up cutting it short, the song that is!

Also on the show this week, we told you about things going on in and around Holderness over the Bank Holiday Weekend, it's funny how this place seems to have woken up all of a sudden. There have been table top sales, yard sales and tombolas galore around here, and that's just today.

Something that's coming up that I'm particularly interested in is the offer of free golf at The Burstwick Country Golf Club. Yep, you read this blog right, FREE GOLF!!! It happens on Saturday 31st May from 12 noon and I might even go along myself. I doubt Mike will be though, he doesn't really seem the golfing type! If you do want to go along then it's important that you ring them in advanced to book, there number is (01964) 670112.

As were on the topic of Sport, well done to Hull City for getting their place in the Premiership. As I think you all probably know by now, Mike isn't really a Football follower but even he saw it, I think he was probably propping the bar up more though as he seemed to be a little worse for wear today. Infact, when I met him in The Spread Eagle before the show he didn't even have a drink, which is very unlike him! He did have a lasagne though which he said was the best hangover food. Today, it was Doncaster Rovers turn to be promoted, they won at Wembley against Leeds as you heard on the show.

As usual, Mike told us "what he's been mostly learing about this week", personally I think he has too much time on his hands to be finding out useless facts like "There are 30,000 wild Parakeets in London" and "2 Cups of spearmint tea a day is thought to control excessive hair in women". I'm sure some of what he says must of use to someone out there!!!! He also told me that "reading in dim light doesn't actually damage your eyes, it's just a myth" and my personal favourite "A haddocks mating call is similar to a slow knocking sound which increases to a hum like a small motorbike revving it's engine" - brilliant!

We also had a bit to say about The Eurovision Song Contest as neither of us see the point in it anymore, even Terry Wogan said on the telly last night that he doesnt see it as a music contest anymore and will have to think if he's going to do it anymore. Now, I was out last night at a Kaiser Chief's gig in Leeds so I didn't get to hear the winning song, which apparantly came from Russia. I googled it and we managed to hear a bit of it on the show, neither of us were impressed. it's by Dima Bilanand it's called "Believing", you can watch his performance on Eurovision here or you can watch the cheesy video here if you must!

Next week, I believe weve got Paul Ashworth & Dave Kitch reporting on the Hull FC match and I'm doing something at a garden party in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care, so I'll be out in sunshine while Mike has to sit in the studio, hahaha! I'll be calling in to let him and you know what's going on at the party. Infact, I'll be out and about in a few weeks too as Mike is arranging some sort of promotion for the station which involves me and several other Seaside FM presenters re-tuning everyone's radios to Seaside FM!! It sounds like a bit of a laugh but I'm never really sure what to expect from him, he's got a habit of just throwing something random at me and I'm sure that is exactly what he'll do!!! Keep listening to the show to find out more about what were going to be doing.

That's just about it from me, but just before I go don't forget you can email the show anytime you like on mikebrownradioshow@live.co.uk. We are always intested in what you think of the show and would love you to get involved. We are also happy to give local events some publicity, so if you have something going on email us and we'll tell everyone else all about it, who knows one of us may even come down and do something live on the radio.

Enjoy whats left of the bank holiday and have a good week.

Check out the show this Sunday at 2.
