On air now: The Full Fat Breakfast
Mike on Look North
This is me giving the horse racing results on Look North on BBC1....no not really! I did sit on the sofa just before the main programme went out though!
I coudn't help but be a little disappointed by how small it was, especially after my recent visit to the BBC TV Centre. I was told that it was a typical size for a BBC studio centre and that most of them are similar.
The actual set itself was immaculate and the sofa was spotless, I wonder who does the cleaning? Behind where the presenter sits is a projector, this is used to display the pretend newsroom scene which is used for BBC news across the country. Previously, the backdrop would be chosen by the producer, one day it might be the Humber Bridge, the next a nice shot of the Hull Marina or even The Queen's Gardens.
The rest of the studio, that you can't see, has quite a high ceiling and is filled with vents, perhaps to keep the studio cool under the lights? It is also a fairly grim grey colour, maybe to match Peter Levy's hair?!
