The new Peter Levy
Mike on the set of Look North in Hull.
I coudn't help but be a little disappointed by how small the studio was, especially after my recent visit to the BBC TV Centre. I was told that it was a typical size for a BBC studio centre and that most of them are similar.
The actual set itself was immaculate and the sofa was spotless, I wonder who does the cleaning? Behind where the presenter sits is a projector, this is used to display the pretend newsroom scene which is used for BBC news across the country. Previously, the backdrop would be a scene from somewhere in the region, for example a nice shot of the Hull Marina or even Queen's Gardens.
The rest of the studio, that you can't see, has quite a high ceiling and is filled with vents, perhaps to keep the studio cool under the lights? It is also a fairly grim grey colour, maybe to match Peter Levy's hair?!
