Mike, Mobiles and Minidiscs - Beat you to it Mr Brown - This Weeks Blog!!!

Hello.
Firstly the title, if you didn't hear the short snappy handover from my show into Mike's yesterday (between 1.45 and 2.15 or thereabouts I think) you won't have heard Mike struggling a bit with the technology in the studio, and in particular the speed of the minidisc players. He suggested that this would be a good title for a Blog, by which he meant his Blog, but I've stolen it!
Also, apologies for the lack of a new Blog over the last few weeks, time constraints on the internet unfortunately meant I've not been able to keep you as updated as I'd have liked. It won't happen again.
I suppose I should start with yesterday really. Thank you Psychic Paul for coming in and helping us dispell a few myths. After the show, me and a friend decided to try our luck at the Franz Ferdinand gig, at a tiny venue in Leeds. We managed to get in and it was fantastic. They're an excellent band anyway but one of those who I like a lot more than I realise, if you see what I mean. They have great songs, great albums and a hell of stage presence. It is always a privilege seeing big bands in small venues, and this time was no different. If you get the chance, when they announce their new tour, autumn/wintertime I would imagine, go and give them a go. If you've never seen them before, you won't be disappointed (but if you are, I take no responsibility for it)
Apart from that, it was been a fairly quiet few weeks for me. I've watched a few films, Malena and Pans Labyrinth were probably the pick of them. Pans Labyrinth particularly is fantastic. One of those great films that can be watched as a spectacle due to the beautiful cinematography of it, or as a story, with all the twists and emotion that goes with it.
I would like one thing off you please, if you are married I'd like to know what your first dance was, if you're not married - what would you want it to be? I've been having this discussion with several people over the last few weeks and really I'd like to know whether you go for a James Blunt type thing, or something that actually means something to you and that you like. From people I have asked the general concensus seems to be that men claim they want something they really like but then agree to Bryan Adams when it comes to it, and then claim they been pushed into it. daveonseasidefm@hotmail.co.uk for answers please. For the record, my current choice is "I don't love anyone" by Belle and Sebastian, simply because it is one of my favourite songs, doesn't matter if the message isn't entirely appropriate. Although, as I'm not on the verge of getting married, I accept my opinion may not be that relevant.
This coming Sunday, I'm not on my show, thank you in advance to Andy for covering again, as I'm heading off to the British Grand Prix. You will however be able to hear me somewhere in the first half hour of The Mike Brown Radio Show, in between the ear-splitting noise of the 20 cars ripping round a 3 and a half mile circuit in 1 minute 25 seconds. This, of course, is assuming that one of the team bosses doesn't see me driving into the circuit and think "this lad is better than Hamilton, sign him up." which I assume is almost certain to happen at some point on the day.
Thanks for your time.
