Mike meets Scooch

Yes, this is me with David, Natalie, Russ and Caroline from Scooch!

This pic was taken at a rather wet day at the Hull Pride gig in West Park on Saturday 9th August 2008. Despite Natalie Powers expecting a baby scooch, the guys still did a rather energetic performance as headliner at the event, and the audience of loved every minute of it!

Scooch were originally formed in 1999, when they were signed to EMI Records. But, after beating tough competition from the likes of Justin Hawkins and Brian Harvey to represent the UK at Eurovision, Scooch were then signed to Warner Music. The song which represented UK was 'Flying The Flag (For You)' which was later release on the new record label and got to number 5 in the UK singles chart in 2007.

During their time on EMI, Scooch gained four top twenty hits including 'More Than I Needed to Know' and my personal fave (Sssh! Don't tell anyone!) 'For Sure', the tracks came from the album of the same name. They also recorded ‘Maybe Tomorrow’ from the classic TV show ‘The Littlest Hobo’, a favourite on the student radio station I used to present on.
