Hull's annual Beer Festival will take place at Hull College's Horncastle Building on George Street, in Hull for the second year from 16th-19th April 2009.

The Real Ale & Cider Festival 2009 is organised by the Hull & East Yorkshire branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, who will have have the usual difficult job of deciding which ales and ciders will appear at the event. Some of the "Champion Beers of Britain" will be present, aswell as a selection from local breweries, some old favourites and new beers to make up the balance.

There will be something for everyone at the event ranging from Ciders, Milds, Bitters, Best Bitters, Strong Ales, Stouts, Porters, Real Lagers, Speciality Beers and Organic Beers, most of which will be produced by independent British Brewers.

Session strength beers (that's up to 4.0% for those who aren't in the know!) will be dispensed from around 30 handpumps and another 40 stronger strength beers will be served direct from the cask. There will also be the usual Cider and Bottled Beer Bar which will offer 20 different real ciders, 4 real perries and 10 Belgian bottled beers, 5 German bottled beers and 2 Czech bottled beers.

Inline with CAMRA's national full pints campaign, all the glasses at the event will be lined and oversized to ensure that customers don't receive any short measures, for details and to sign their petition click here.

Admission is £2 after 6.00 p.m. on the Thursday and Friday. Entry is free at all other times and to card carrying CAMRA members.
