The Active Communities team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council have created an exciting and varied Active Coast programme of activities for the February half term holiday at several locations along the East Riding coastline.

From indoor guided painting workshops to outdoor crafts, indoor yoga to bootcamps, multi sports sessions and group walks, there is something for everyone.

All the Active Coast activities are free, but some do need to be booked in advance.

Councillor Nick Coultish, Cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: "It's great to see another varied and exciting programme from Active Coast for this half term holiday, which I know will prove popular! Families of all ages can benefit from all these superb activities and sessions, and have fun at the same time."

Activities include:

Multi Sports session in Withernsea: Get active, join in, have fun and improve fundamental skills. The session will guide participants through a range of different sports. Guided family painting workshops with Thread and Press CIC: Join a family friendly guided painting session with the very talented Thread and Press CIC. Learn how to work with acrylic paints to create a beautiful bird artwork in a group art setting. Learn how to mix paints, work with different brush techniques, layer and build up a painting from start to finish. Suitable for ages 5+ with an accompanying adult. Dance Workshops: A fun and energetic Dance session in Hornsea Hub and East Riding Leisure Bridlington sports halls. Learn a new dance routine, meet new friends, join in a range of different dance games. These sessions are suitable for beginners and parents are welcome to stay if they wish to accompany their child: Wednesday, 14 February: 2:30pm-3:30pm in East Riding Leisure Bridlington and Thursday, 15 February: 2:30pm-3:30pm in Hornsea Hub. Kids / Family Bootcamps: in Bridlington and Hornsea: Get active, join in, have fun and keep fit. The session will guide participants through a range of different bootcamp activities to work on core strength, agility, stamina and fitness. No previous experience is necessary. Sessions will take place on Wednesday, 14 February in the sports hall, East Riding Leisure Bridlington, 1pm-2pm and Thursday, 15 February in the sports hall, Hornsea Hub, 1pm-2pm. Mile Marker Walk, Bridlington: A one hour walk from the leisure centre towards Sewerby passing various mile markers plaques. The inclusive walk is weekly at the same time and invites walkers of all abilities : Thursday, 15 February: East Riding Leisure, Bridlington:10am-11am: Just turn up on the day, meeting point is in the café area.

Peaceful Evening Yoga Flow in Withernsea: a relaxing evening Yoga class in the warmth of the Meridian Centre, Withernsea. No previous experience is necessary - beginners are welcome : Thursday, 15 February, 7pm-8pm. Suitable for age: 16+. Places are limited. Register now: www.activecoast.org

Bridlington Sunrise Yoga: A morning of Yoga practice in the warmth of Bridlington Spa. This 75 minute Yoga session will comprise a series of Yoga postures that are suitable for both beginners and experienced Yoga participants. The session will take place with a spectacular view over Bridlington sea at Bridlington Spa: Friday 16 February: 8am-9:15am: Age: 16+: no previous experience is necessary. Places are limited. Woodland Explorations at Danes Dyke: Crafts with Wildcats: Join the Wildcats for a special drop-in session exploring the creatures of the woods. Join in some creative fun : Friday, 16 February, 10am-12pm : Danes Dyke Nature Reserve, Flamborough: Families of all ages welcome. Just turn up on the day.
