Jonathan Evison has been re-elected as the Police and Crime Commissioner for the Humberside Police Force area, beating Simon O’Rourke, Labour and Bob Morgan, Liberal Democrats.
Following the count of ballot papers, Mr Evison was elected with 51,083 votes (full result below).
After the announcement of the result by the Returning Officer, Mr Evison was sworn in as Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside. He will serve for four years, the next scheduled election is in May 2028. This is Mr Evison’s second term of office after being elected in 2021 on a 3 year term. Before becoming the Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside Jonathan Evison served as chair of the Humberside Police and Crime Panel. He was born in and has lived and worked in the Humber area all his life spending 40 years in the steel industry at Scunthorpe.
Following the announcement, Mr Evison said, “I am elated to have been re-elected as Police and Crime Commissioner for the Humberside Police Force area. Over the past 3 years, I have been working hard to increase feelings of safety and improve public confidence in policing, but the work can not stop there. My priorities going into this term will be to ensure there is more visible policing and more initiatives to tackle drugs and anti-social behaviour. I will continue to champion for fair policing to tackle rural, coastal and urban crime. I will be introducing more new technology to help make our roads safer and reduce causalities. I will maintain strong support for victims of crime and increase the work to end violence against women and girls.
I am here to represent the public on policing and will continue to do so for all our communities. I look forward to engaging with the public further to determine my priorities for the forthcoming Police and Crime Plan.”
