Two new modern-looking bus shelters have been installed in Withernsea this week to replace much older shelters.
The brightly-coloured shelters have been sited at busy bus stops in Pier Road and Memorial Avenue in the town.
The shelters have been funded by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and cost around £12,000.
Cllr Gary McMaster said: “We’ve replaced these shelters in the heart of the town and we hope their installation will help to promote Withernsea to visitors this summer and also encourage people to use local buses.”
Cllr Lyn Healing, ward councillor for South East Holderness, who campaigned for the new shelters, said: “I am so pleased after working with Colin Walker, who is our transportation services group manager, and his team, we now have two new bus shelters in place and we have bright new colours that are more fitting to a seaside town than the previous green shelters.
“I have had some excellent feedback from residents and all agree what a huge difference they make.”
