Easter at Sewerby Hall and Gardens will see two weeks of events and fun activities, including the legendary medieval jousting on Easter Sunday, and the opening of a brand new Woodland Activity area.

Designed to provide fun and adventure for children, the activity area boasts a range of exciting play equipment including a zip line, balance beams, stepping stones and a wobbly bridge.

The events programme offers fun for all the family:

3 and 10 April : Rusticus Encounter - Viking : 11.30am – 3.30pm: join Viking shield maiden, Freydis, and take part in outdoor activities and games

4 and 11 April : Rusticus - Knights of the Round Table! : 11.30am -3.30pm: Sir Prancealot and page Prentice share what it takes to be knights of the Round Table…outdoor event

5, 8 and 12 April : Easter Magic in the Orangery and Face Painting : 11am-4pm: Join Mr Bubbles for family fun.

6 and 13 April : Rusticus - Wonderland Adventure : 11.30am – 3.30pm : featuring the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts, outdoor fun including crazy croquet and a tea party.

Good Friday, 7 April : Wildcats - Winter : 11am-3pm: create a mountain hare or a hibernating hedgehog.

7 April : zoo activity - willow fruit kebabs: 11am – 12 pm: make a kebab to feed to the animals, and learn about their diet and behaviour

Easter Sunday, 9 April : medieval jousting : 1pm-3.30pm : England’s number one jousting team from Nottingham return, with around 20 jousters and horses, including The Black Knight and Sir Michael of York.

9 April : Craft Fair : 11am-4pm: handmade gifts, keepsakes, and accessories, in the Orangery

14 April : Wildcats - Nest Making : 11am – 3pm : collect materials and weave a beautiful nest for your eggs.

14 April : zoo activity - Meet the Hoof Stock : 11am- 1.30pm : a chance to meet donkeys, llamas and goats in the zoo.

It is hoped that the Woodland Activity Area will be open to the public from the Easter holidays. Visitors can take advantage of the beautiful surroundings of Sewerby Hall, which include stunning gardens, woodland walks, and a host of other attractions. Whether a local resident or a visitor to the area, Sewerby Hall offers a unique and memorable day out for the whole family.

Admission to the Woodland Activity Area is included with the standard admission fee for Sewerby Hall and Gardens. Visitors are advised to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor play, and to be prepared for an adventure!
